All Lumen Christi students have the opportunity to engage with the Japanese and Italian. Both languages offer interactive and cultural understanding of the respective countries.

Opportunities are also available to use and experience first-hand the real language either through a study tour to the country or involvement in an exchange program. The language skills of those fortunate enough to visit another country or host an overseas visitor improve dramatically during a relatively short period of time .

On entering high school, all Year 7 students study both Italian and Japanese in their first year. The aim of our Year 7 Language courses is to provide an understanding of the language and culture of Italy and Japan and so assist students to make an informed decision for Year 8.

All students continue studying one language throughout Year 8. From Year 9 Language becomes an option. Both Italian and Japanese are offered at ATAR level.
