Visual Arts

The resources and technologies available at Lumen Christi ensure a rich and exciting creative program. The Visual Arts offers many stimulating learning experiences including practical application, gallery and drawing excursions, art competitions and working with professional artists.

Our students have enjoyed success in local and statewide art exhibitions including the prestigious Perspectives Exhibition at the Art Gallery of Western Australia.

Lumen Christi continues to offer areas of study in the Visual Arts that have links to vocational opportunities and tertiary studies.

Lower School

Year 7 students will participate in a 'taster' course of Visual Arts involving drawing, design and ceramics. Year 8 students may opt to take another semester long Visual Arts course.

Students in years 9 and 10 have the option of participating in Art for a full year course. They may choose General or Specialist Art. Successful completion of either of these programs gives students the eligibility to continue with Visual Arts in Upper School.

Upper School

Lumen Christi offers Stage 2 and 3 courses in Visual Arts and Stage 1 in Design. Visual Arts involves drawing, design, painting, media experimentation, painting, sculpture and printmaking. Design students are introduced to drawing skills and technique, production and processes, materials and technologies.
