WACE History and Geography Educational European Tour
Run every two years
Students will be given the opportunity to participate in a European Tour that will improve their historical and geographical knowledge and investigational ability. They will be able to see the inter-connections of place and space to national development and history.
The tour is open to Year 11 and 12 students studying Modern History and Geography.
Every participant will be encouraged to strive for a higher level of performance in school-based assessments. This then has a follow-on effect for raising standards and gaining higher levels of achievement both in community based and WACE exams.
Students have the opportunity to interact with, and experience people from a wide range of cultures and backgrounds. This will improve their understanding, and involvement in the ‘Global Community’ and make them World Citizens.
Students will become immersed in the European culture, geography and history which will improve their general knowledge through contextual learning, and retention of key concepts and content of the compulsory or essential content in the Stage 2 and 3 units for both Modern History and Geography.
Travelling as a group also promotes peer relationships and interaction between students from all year levels and disciplines.
Students will gain a cultural awareness of a different region.
