Netball

Lumen girls love to play netball and College teams are renown for their skill, dedication and spirit of determination.  Netball is offered as one of the Physical Education elective for Year 9. In recent years teams have been regular finalists in the High schools cup and in 2011 the Senior Team clinched the shield. Netball has an important place in the College out of school sports program.  Teams compete in the High Schools Cup and other tournaments at three levels;  combined Years 7 & 8,  team, combined  Years 9 & 10 and a Senior team. The teams are picked by sectional trial in late Term One.  Anyone interested in playing netball is welcome to attend training sessions throughout the year.

Teams may also have the opportunity to travel interstate to compete in national level.

Cricket

Cricket has long been part of the sporting Program at Lumen Christi College.  It is offered as one of the Physical Education electives in Year 9.   The College currently offer a Boys Junior 7, 8 & 9 team.   During Term cricket also opens the round of Principal’s cup matches during which Year 12 challenge a staff team.

The Cricket team is picked by sectional trial in late Term One. Any student who enjoys playing Cricket is encouraged to attend. 

Basketball

Basketball continues to grow in popularity at the College.  Forget the myth that you need to be tall to play.  People of all height levels can acquire skills and achieve success in this sport.  We are currently able to offer Boys Junior 7, 8 & 9 plus both Boys and Girls Senior teams, 10, 11 & 12 Teams. 

The teams are picked by sectional trial in late Term One.  Any student interested in developing their skills is welcome to attend training.

Australian Rules

Australian Rules has long been an integral part of the Lumen Christi sports program.  Though less popular than with previous generations of students the College currently fields three teams;  a Boys Junior team comprising years 7, 8 & 9 and a Boys Senior Team, Years 10, 11 & 12, plus a Senior Girls team, of years 10, 11 & 12.   

The teams are picked by sectional trial in late Term One. All interested students are welcome to attend training.

Soccer

Soccer, the ‘world game’, is very popular across all age groups at Lumen Christi College amongst boys and girls. Soccer is offered as one of the Physical Education elective for Year 9 and the College has taken both boys and girls teams to compete in an international competition in Singapore. We field Junior, Intermediate and Senior Boys' Teams, and Junior and Senior Girls' Teams.
