Principal's Welcome

I am delighted to welcome you to the Lumen Christi College community.  Thank you for visiting our College website.  It offers a window into the diversity of our School, providing information about our community, our many programs, existing structures, our excellent facilities and the expansive College grounds.  Importantly, this site also presents a glimpse into daily school life – highlighting our wonderful students as they enjoy the many spiritual, academic, cultural and sporting opportunities that are available to them.

Lumen Christi College is a Catholic, co-educational secondary school located in the suburb of Martin in the foothills of Perth.  With over 900 students from Year 7 through to Year 12, the College continues to respond to the growing demand of families from within our local parishes and from the rapidly expanding surrounding areas.

Our College name, Lumen Christi – ‘The Light of Christ’ identifies our Church status.  Our name calls us, individually and as a community, to be beacons of the Gospel.  That is, people who help make God known and present in our world today – people who are a ‘light for others’, serving as school and community leaders and acting as agents of change in creating a more just society.

Our Mission Statement emphasises the vital task of our College; ‘To form resilient young men and women with a passion to learn and to be a light for others’. This mission is at the heart of all College pursuits and endeavours.

We enjoy a strong reputation for the excellent pastoral care of our students. The College Staff are wonderful role models who value the dignity and worth of each and every student and strive to create a positive learning environment in which the personal needs of all students are catered for. Students are encouraged to seek personal excellence and challenged to discover and develop their talents not only for themselves, but in the service of others.

Lumen Christi offers a wide range of quality educational opportunities that foster the development of each student.  The curriculum programs are current, utilise the latest technology and respond to emerging trends in education and the ever changing demands of our modern world.

We provide established pathways for University entrance, extensive vocational education and training programs and cater for students with special learning needs in a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

All students are encouraged to engage fully in their academic studies as well as pursuing their interests in the wide range of co-curricular activities and specialised programs on offer.

Our College acknowledges the important role of parents as the primary educators of their children. We value and seek to strengthen meaningful partnerships with parents in the education of their children.  At Lumen Christi, we constantly seek to instil and enhance a strong sense of community, recognising that student success and happiness emerge as a result of the support they receive from their families and the education they receive from their school.

We provide each and every student a diverse and balanced learning environment within a safe and caring community and are justifiably proud of our school.

On behalf of the staff and students, I thank you once again for showing an interest in our College.  I trust that this website will provide you with a meaningful insight and greater understanding of our wonderful school.

You are most welcome to contact us directly if you wish to visit our school or enquire further.
